Secondary Three Character Education Assignment

1) Global-mindedness is by having strongly knitted ties with other countries. The modern era is highly interconnected and it makes it even more meaningful to establish diverse relationships with friends and people from all parts of the world. Through global-mindedness, Victorians can discover new methods to foster safer environments to act freely among the different ethnic groups and societies. Giving respect through experience is the best approach that Victorians could do to stabilise their relevance within the rapid globalisation.

2) Friends make up the sum of the Victorian Family where all the necessary tuning takes place in one single place. However, when global-mindedness is involved, friends have to also possess the spatial awareness. This is evident when competitions are involved where certain events are held overseas and everyone must accustom themselves to the environment. The level that the individual can work harmoniously with the people around him.

3)Sense of global-mindedness can sometimes come from the greatly discussed topics. Take a look at the way a government or monarchy governs the country can also give a sense of global-mindedness. When another member tries to alter the rule, overall power may collapse and conflicts arise. It works the same way within an interpersonal relationship. When personal space crumbles due to lack of understanding teaches us on lessons and boundaries that increases as we widen our perspective of the world. When further understanding takes place, the level of tolerance between everyone across cultures increases allowing us to conduct social interaction in a more open environment.

4) I agree with the comment as what happens to us is not by accident. When we have a global mindset, everything that we see around us is also changed together with our willingness to learn more. When it may seem enough, it never is. That is why a global mindset pushes us to new boundaries socially that can always be better for us.

1. It is important for every Victorian to be global-minded because that way Victorians will be able to have an openness and awareness of diversity across cultures. The world is ever-evolving and there are new discoveries all the time, it is crucial for Victorians to know what is happening and the current issues of the world. This helps them to widen their knowledge and see things in more than one perspective.

2. Global-mindedness is evident when they talk about different cultures and current issues concerning the world. It can be seen if they are global-minded by the way they discuss the matter.

3. What best fosters the development of global-mindedness in a person is his/her community. The people around them has to instill global-mindedness as early as possible for them to fully understand what global-mindedness really is and its importance.

4. I agree with the comment. It sums up the meaning of global-mindedness and how it can be applied in our everyday lives.

Q1) Every Victorian should be global-minded as it opens up new perspectives to matters, and teaches us new ideas and concepts of different cultures and their societies.



Q2) Global-mindedness was evident in me and my friends saw it when the cohort went for the Secondary 3 E.D.G.E camp, and I learnt how villagers in Malaysia adapted to their environment.



Q3) I feel that overseas student exchanges are a very good way to develop global-mindedness in a person. An overseas student exchange exposes the student to a new culture, and shows them how different countries have different ways of doing things.
